Anthony Horn has been active in the Houston engineering community since the late
1960s. He has degrees in both engineering and architecture, and has done a wide
variety of drafting and design projects.
His school, the Horn Drafting & CAD Center, has trained over 5000 graduates for
Houston's industries. His school was the first school in Houston to offer computer
aided drafting (CAD) to the public in 1982. The school has maintained a reputation for
high quality training in AutoCAD® operations, with a special focus on Pipe Drafting
using CADWorx® software.
In 1993 Anthony Horn began working for ECAD, Inc., while continuing his school's operations. In the next few
years, ECAD, Inc. quickly grew, and became the largest CADWorx software dealer in the world. This
opportunity allowed him to see first hand how engineering designers apply CADWorx software to solve
everyday problems, and gain an understanding of best practices and high productivity techniques.
In 2007 Anthony Horn wrote, produced, and recorded the Mastering CADWorx Plant Professional video training
course. This course has become the recognized worldwide standard for CADWorx training materials. The
course includes over 150 video recordings and a 350 page workbook. Anthony Horn's other publications
include copyrighted training courses written for use at his Houston school, and he was a contributing author to
The CAD/CAM Handbook (McGraw Hill, 1985) and Pipe Drafting & Design (Gulf Publishing, 1995).
In 2008 Anthony Horn created the official COADE® CADWorx Certification Program. This program was
established for testing and verifying skill levels of CADWorx designers.
These web based training courses and materials are a reflection of Anthony Horn's many years of experience,
and his knowledge gained in working closely with students. These online videos show his knack of teaching
people very technical subjects in a way that's both reassuring, and easy to understand.
